About

The club is delighted to offer first aid training courses again this year. The idea is to enhance the overall general knowledge of what to do in an emergency situation and give attendees the confidence to take positive action. The courses are tailored to some of the typical injuries that might be expected during our club activities, i.e. running, cycling, swimming.

These courses are only open to members of Wimbledon Windmilers. 10 places are available for each session. If you cannot attend please cancel early so someone else can take your place.

Price

  • Non-coach members: all courses are £5.00 (plus £1.13 Eventbrite booking fee). See link in the table below.
  • Club coaches: free of charge – contact [email protected] to book your place.

Other FAQs

Q. If I can’t make any of the sessions, will there be an opportunity to do this training in the future?

A. Hopefully yes!  We want to make first aid training a regular occurrence, so if there’s enough interest we could consider a session(s) every year.

Q. The session I want to do is full and sold out. Is there anything you can do?

A. If you can’t make an alternative date, we are operating a Waitlist (managed via Eventbrite) and you’ll be contacted if a place opens up. It’s first-come-first-serve. If we have a significant number of people on the waitlist, we’ll look to see if we can schedule an additional session and you’ll be contacted.

Q. Do I need any previous knowledge or experience of first aid?

A. No, the training is suitable for anyone and no previous knowledge is needed.

Q. Is it open to non-members?

A. At the moment we would like to limit the participation to members only.

Q. I already have some basic first aid training. Am I still allowed to go on this course?

A. Definitely.  You could use it as a refresher!

Q. Is this a formal qualification?

A. No. Formal qualifications in First Aid usually take a lot longer to complete. We are not trying to teach to an advanced competency, these courses are designed to give you a general basic overview of how to deal with typical injuries that we might encounter as a club. On completion of the course you will be issued a certificate which lasts for 3 years.
