No Training from the Windmill this Sunday 1st July because of Club Open 10K

There is training from Rugby Club tonight (Tues. 31st)!

Apologies - it was just missed off accidentally.

Club Training Sessions - Update from Club Chair, Keith MacIntosh

Just a quick update on where we’re up to in terms of restarting group activities under the Windmiler name. Unfortunately the short version is 'not yet'.

It’s great to hear about members meeting up with one another, now that it’s permitted again. Those social contacts are an important part of club life. But for any organised club activity we are obliged to go through some broader checks before we’re able to offer any official Windmiler sessions.

Training Forum on Zoom, Tues 12 May

The next Windmiler virtual coaching session will be on Zoom at 19:15 - 20:00 Tuesday 12 May, because although all organised athletics activities (including formal club training sessions) are suspended until 30 June, we can still connect and catch up virtually.

A chance to chat with the club's coaches and with each other. See Training Sessions on the right for details.

Boxing Day Mince Pies

On the 26th December we are holding our usual Boxing day run from the Windmill. Everyone is welcome to come along. We go for a run at 10am for various distances of 3 and 5 miles and then afterwards we have Mince Pies and Mulled Wine.

We have plenty of Mince Pies and Mulled wine but if you want to bring some of your tasty leftovers or even new ones why not bring them along, they won't last long!

London Marathon 2018

The London Marathon Ballot is out

Whether you got in or didn't. Why not come and train with us. It is really a great way to keep the motivation levels high, get some good advice and meet from new running friends. We would love to see you!

Talk: 'Running: The Mental Side and Race Pacing', Tuesday 28 March

In the build up towards our spring races we bring you top tips on the mental exercise of running and ways to pace your race.  Our speakers, Kate Carter, Julia Donovan and Keith MacIntosh, will share their techniques and answer any questions you have. 8:30pm on Tuesday 28 March after training at the Wimbledon Rugby Club, Barham Road, SW20 0ET.

I am team GB - track session this Saturday morning

As part of the “I Am Team GB” initiative, which involves ITV turning off all their channels for an hour, you can distract yourself from the misery of missing a re-run of Murder She Wrote, by coming to the Wimbledon Park Athletics track, to join in a specially designed session.

The usual track session has been advertised as part of the event, where sports clubs open their doors to the general public, and show the variety of fun ways we can all get fitter.

Saturday Track session 6th September - location moved to grass.

Merton have booked out the track on Saturday 6th September and so the Windmiler session will most likely take place on the grass outside the track instead. BUT, please still meet at the track at 9.30am as sometimes the track bookers allow us to do the session or we will walk to the grass from there.

Running with the Windmilers over Christmas and New Year

Saturday and Sunday sessions will take place as normal.

There will be no training from the Rugby Club on Tues 24, Thurs 26 and Tues.

31st Dec.
