Training

Thursday 1 February - Time to Talk Day #runandtalk

Windmilers are joining in Time to Talk Day #runandtalk, come along early to Belgrave Hall (and feel free to invite friends and neighbours) for a short talk at 7.00 pm by club member Steph Nimmo on running and mental health.  We will then head off as one group to do a paarlauf, all speeds welcome.  Afterwards we'll go to the Swan pub for informal drinks.

Want a change from the Parkrun? try Windmilers' track training!

We'd love to welcome newcomers and old hands to Wimbledon Park Track on Saturday mornings - old hands, note the new start time of 10 am, get there 09.50 to be ready to start promptly.  If you've never tried it before, come in good time & chat to the coach before we start, the sessions are suitable for runners of all speeds. Any questions contact enquiry@windmilers.org.uk

Training in the festive season

Windmiler training keeps going right up to Christmas - we will be swimming on Mon 18th, running on Tues 19th, Thurs 21st, Sat 23rd and Christmas Eve.  We'll also have a Boxing Day run at 10 am on Tues 26th December, from Wimbledon Windmill; that's then it until Sun 31st Dec when we resume running; swimming takes a 2-week break, and will restart on Mon 8th January.

The light evenings are here: try Windmilers' midweek training!

Whether you're new to Windmilers' midweek training or just haven't been for a long time - why not give it a go?   We meet twice a week on Tuesdays & Thursdays at Belgrave Hall (Wimbledon Village). Get there in good time (we start at 7.15), ring the bell, and the coach will buzz you in.  We meet upstairs in the back room; there are changing rooms and showers. Non-members are welcome to try one or two sessions before joining.

Track not open tomorrow (Saturday 29) but planned 5K time trial will still happen

The Council have told us today that the Track is closed tomorrow (Saturday track) because of a fire this morning.

The training session (5K time trial) will still go ahead outside the track - the group will meet outside the track gate near the lake.

Access to Wimbledon Common for Sunday training restricted

Because of the Prudential Bike Ride, there will be much reduced access to the Common this Sunday 31st.

NO CARS will be allowed and no buses will be going along Parkside.

Please walk, cycle or make other arrangements.

Training will be as normal.
