Coronavirus update – 29th April 2020

The Suspension of athletics competition is now extended to 30 June 2020.

All coaching has ceased since 24th March 2020, and is only to be conducted via virtual means during this period. England Athletics have stated that they will review and update the wider suspension of all other athletics activity outside of competition (currently set to 31 May 2020) after the UK government announcement expected during week commencing 4 May.

Club membership

Membership renewal payment will NOT be on 1 April this year, so your current membership will remain active until the renewal does happen. This is partly due to the current coronavirus situation but also because we are working to move our membership system to one provided by England Athletics (EA) and we need to do further work to set it up and test. This work should be completed before the end of April, so we will contact you again later this month with further plans about this year’s membership payment.

Coronavirus update - 25 March

The latest Coronavirus statement from England Athletics, issued on 24 March, is now mandating that all physical coaching ceases, and is only to be conducted via virtual means during this period. They are also extending the suspension of all athletics activity in England to 31 May.

#runandtalk Sunday 16 February

Following the success of the Windmilers' first #RunAndTalk event in November, our second event will take place on Sunday 16 February at 10 o'clock from the Windmill. Please note that it will replace the usual Sunday social runs. It will be a relatively short moderately paced run designed to give us plenty of opportunities for having great conversations and getting to know each other better. Following the run, we encourage everyone to continue those conversations afterwards in the Windmill Tea Rooms.
