Windmilers

Thursday 24th Jan - training is on

Training from he Rugby Club will be on tonight although we may change the actual session. Obviously take care if there is any residual snow/ice around the side roads/car park area.

SAVE THE DATE: WIMBLEDON WINDMILERS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (“AGM”)

The AGM is confirmed for Tuesday, 29th November at Wimbledon Rugby Football Club (Beverley Meads, Barham Road SW20 OET).

Darkness Dash - night run (for members) on Thursday November 23

Runners, come along to Belgrave Hall at 7pm for 7.15pm; you must bring a torch - remember to check it's working before you come.  The 3.5 mile run will be timed but is not necessarily a race - remember the terrain will be muddy and uneven, and torchlight makes everything look flatter than it really is, so just come along ready to enjoy the experience;  the route map is here and some tips for running at night.

Club ballot for the London Marathon

If you missed out on the public ballot for the London Marathon 2018, you've got a second chance to get in via the club's marathon ballot - the criteria for entry include volunteering and/or running for the club in team events.  You can gain those brownie points by running in Saturday's cross-country events or the November Mabac, and by volunteering to marshal at the upcoming Night Run.

2017 Windmiler Awards Nominations

Windmiler Awards 2017 - the nominations

Many thanks to  everyone for your nominations. Here is the final list, which will be considered by the awards sub-committee this Friday. No more names may be added, but if you nominated someone and they have been inadvertently left off, please email secretary@windmilers.org.uk.

Volunteers needed! Help with the Wimbledon Common Rangers Open Day Sunday 10th September

You may recall that for the last few years we have organised the car park marshaling for the Rangers Open Day.  We have been asked if we can again assist from 0930 to 1700. This is a great way to give something back to the people that look after the Common and also is great for Ranger-Windmiler relations!   We still need another 10 or so volunteers - if you can please support your club and the Common we run on so much.  And it counts towards the Windmilers ballot for the London marathon.

Wimbledon Village Fair

Wimbledon Fair

Thank you to everyone who volunteered for car parking and stall-minding duties on sweltering Saturday.

Thanks especially to David Turner, John and Sally for co-ordinating the club's efforts, Claire for pulling together the flyer and Lee Williams for generously printing 1,000 flyers for free at short notice.

Want to start running in 2017?

New year, New running opportunities..

Are you thinking about taking up running? Do you already run, but would like to get faster? Would you like to run in the evenings, but don't have anyone to run with? Have you got a London marathon place and want support in doing your long runs?

We welcome all speeds and ages of runners to our friendly club and we have roughly equal numbers of men and women.

If you are interested in joining, there are many ways you can do this....

Happy New Year Everyone

Happy New Year!
