Restricted club sessions from Thursday 3rd December 2020

Following the end of the second lockdown and the start of Tier 2 restrictions for London, and subject to coach availability, the club is preparing to resume some running sessions from Thursday 3rd December in groups of up to six. Club sessions will be listed on the Windmiler Calendar (https://www.windmilers.org.uk/Calendar.html) and pre-registration is required for all sessions. Coached swimming and cycling sessions remain postponed until further notice.

Club sessions suspended during the national lockdown

In light of the new lockdown for England, we expect to suspend all club sessions from Thursday 5th November, unless the final guidance allows outdoor sports such as running to continue. Sessions planned this week for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will proceed, though we understand entirely if members wish to cancel their places.

Windmiler Awards 2020 announcement

2020 has been a difficult year for everyone, and while for many of us, running has never been more important, it's certainly not provided a level playing field. People have had to deal with unprecedented circumstances, from health to work - and racing and performance have been far from people's minds. That's not to say there haven't been some brilliant performances from runners, swimmers and cyclists - or different combinations of all three - but for many, racing has either been understandably unimportant, or logistically impossible.

Covid-19 update for London Tier 2 alert from 17th October 2020

We are pleased to confirm that the Wimbledon Windmilers group running training sessions are continuing in groups of six as London goes into Tier 2 alert from 17th October 2020. All of our training sessions meet and take place outdoors. We remind Windmilers not to congregate in groups of more than six before or after a session, especially when there are multiple groups starting at the same time of day.

Covid-19 plan for a phased return to activity (update 20th July 2020)

England Athletics (EA) requires that affiliated clubs prepare a Covid-19 plan and perform risk assessments on activities before we can offer them as club sessions. Our plan takes into account EA guidance1, our local situation and member feedback.
