Mike, I know you always put

Mike, I know you always put me down as a vet for every XC, but as I always tell you its still a few years to go! Could you reallocate me to another team?

Delighted to be a senior

Delighted to be a senior again... Yes, happy to swap teams with you Nick. With your form you're a better option!

Hi Mike
Simon Newton is a Vet, so you could swap Nick with him.
What time are we meeting for?

Sorry, I'm going to sound

Sorry, I'm going to sound like a pain now....but on the event listing you mentioned that the race starts at 6:30pm so leg 1 needs to be there by 6pm. Is that just a scare tactic as it looks like its actually a 7pm start according to the event organisers - could you confirm? Thanks

Start time is 7:00 not 6:30.

Start time is 7:00 not 6:30.

Earliest arrivals only required by 6:40.

Note that nick is still young - though recorded as a vet on results website.

3 individuals were unable to hold off partners on theatre, dinner or videoing a threesome (definetly in the category of things captains do not need to know).

If you are able to attend please feel free to come.

Note that nic is still young - I think you may be classified in mature age groups for triathlon and I may hav e picked up on this.

If you are able to attend please feel free to come as we have had 3 cancellations.

Surprised to see my name

Surprised to see my name here, given that I've always had something else in my diary for this evening. There's a slim chance I can make it, but it would only be in time to run a last leg. So if there's a bit of a reshuffle going on, maybe it's worth making sure that the Red team is complete with people who can definitely run. And then if I do make it, I'll run for whichever team (if any) needs a final leg done.

The results are now posted on

Thank you to all who particpated, especially those that jumped in at the last minute.

The lead Men's team was unlucky to finish 4th on the night - but can take pride in setting a new club record for the event (though on a shortend course).

Gerrad O'Callaghan and Conrad Steyn put in noteworthy performances, running well above expectations. I hope that this is the start of a purple patch for them both. Also worth noting Matt and Graham who both ran two legs.

On a negative note we had a number of people drop out which did prove disruptive. Next year if you have not arrived 10 minutes before the start (without alerting the captains) we will have to scratch you as juggling names mid race is unrewarding for all.

Anyone know how long the

Anyone know how long the course actually was? I recall 2.87 or something form last year..?
Well done to everyone :-)

I'm interested in doing this.

I'm interested in doing this. At what point does one become a 'super vet'. Am I one at over 50? I say this because I see gaps in the super vet category. I could pretend I'm older... ;-)

I've just noticed it already

I've just noticed it already happened, but was drawn in by the date being June at the top!!! Forgive this old man.
