Ponds on the Common (approx. 5 miles)

A route taking in all 9 ponds on the Common. Do you know why there is a pond where it is illegal to break the ice or one which was first setup as a beacon to celebrate a King's coronation?

The route is along clear paths on the Common but in a few places on the route could get muddy after wet weather.

The route described starts at our midweek training base at Belgrave Hall but you can join it at any point on the circuit. You can also make it shorter by just visiting the ponds that sound most interesting and you are welcome to take alternative pathways if you prefer.

One pond is on the golf course - please watch out for golfers.

If you do try this route, we'd love to have any comments you have good or bad so that we can improve this. Also, if you send in photos we will try to include those also.
