AGM - Tue 5th Mar 2019

The club’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 5th March 2019 in the Lingfield Room, Wimbledon Village Hall, 26 Lingfield Road, Wimbledon, SW19 4QD. Provisional timing is 7.15-9.15pm, although that may change depending on the number of motions and proposals. There will be no club training that evening.

2018 minutes and the resulting Club Rules and policies etc are published on the website. Relevant deadlines:

  • The Secretary shall announce the date of the AGM on the club website and invite any motions proposing amendments to the Club Rules at least thirty-five days before the AGM (Tue 29th Jan)
  • Any proposal for amendment [to the Club Rules] must be made in writing and forwarded to reach the Secretary no later than twenty-eight days before a General Meeting (Tue 5th Feb)
  • The Agenda for the Annual General Meeting, the Annual Report, last AGM minutes and Statement of Accounts for the preceding year shall be distributed to all members at least twenty-one days before the Annual General Meeting (Tue 12th Feb)
  • Motions should be forwarded to reach the Secretary no later than seven days before the Annual General Meeting (Tue 26th Feb)

The deadline for submission of proposals relating to Club Rules has now passed. If you wish to submit a motion relating to any other aspect of the club constitution or policies, please ensure that is sent to secretary@windmilers.org.uk by Tue 26th Feb (and remember that if you have a less formal suggestion or comment, those are welcome at any time, or could be part of the ’town hall’ session on Tue 19th March).

An updated version of the documents will be published before the AGM, with a final set of motions, confirmed agenda, and also a list of those people who’ve put themselves forward for committee positions.

More generally, this is a chance to get involved (although feedback and suggestions are welcome throughout the year, and the AGM is primarily for ‘formal’ decisions). Please consider whether you are interested in standing for a committee position (with the exception of President, which is a three year term, all positions are open every year). Some current committee members are happy to continue, if elected. Others aren’t. So please don’t assume that everything continues as it is, with the same people giving up their time year after year. If you want to make a contribution then please do so. Maybe that’s through committee membership, but there are plenty of other ways too. The club only functions if members are willing to do something to make it happen.
