London Marathon 2018

Race Date: Sunday, 22/04/2018
Race Distance: Marathon

Recorded as the hottest London marathon on record at 24.1 degrees at St James Park and even warmer when you accounted for the large volume of runners and the heat they gave off! Described as a brutal race with many roadside casualties and walkers early on. Too true. It was an energy sapping race if you attempted to give it some effort. Not a good race for pb attempts or world records. So well done to those who did achieve a pb. On the upside, it was a beautiful day, which drew out an incredible number of supporters, including our own merry band of Windmilers, along the Highway and the Embankment. Thanks All for cheering us! It was great to stop off for a chat!
