The club organizes two different mile races a year.

In the spring we have the classic Windmile - revived in 2011 after a break of a few years.  Here you're running an approximate mile on a trail on the Common, in a roughly straight line.

In the autumn we have the Windmile on the track - a  measured mile (just over 4 laps) on a smooth surface.

We want to see as many Windmilers as possible of different speeds running in each of these races!

For 2017:

In 2016 the Windmile on the Common was held on July 19th.

Please go to the rugby club for 6.50pm  to collect numbers.
The itinerary is as follows:
6.50pm-7.15pm registration & number collection
7.15pm, jog to the common as warm up (we'll pass the finish point of the race first and can leave clothes etc there)
7.45pm, race starts near the Windmill and continues along the main track towards Gravelly Hill
8.05pm - jog back to the Rugby Club for results and presentations
8.30pm - opportunity for drinks at the Rugby Club followed by the Crooked Billet

The 2016 Windmile on the Track was held on Saturday December 10.

Come to Wimbledon Park Track for registration and warm up between 11 & 11.20am.  Dependent on numbers, we may hold two races grouped by speed.  We'll race around 11.30, salute the winners (in each age-group) on the podium, and retire to the Pig and Whistle to celebrate.

Volunteering to help at either of these events counts towards the club's marathon ballot.  Contact Claire Morgan on
