Special Cross Country Season Session/Social – Sat 9th October

With the first Surrey League XC matches of the season on 16th Oct the coaches have organised a XC training session on Sat 9th Oct starting at 09:30 from the Windmill, with an informal social afterwards. The session is based on our popular Trail to Track session – starting on the Common, progressing on paved roads and finishing with some intervals on the track. Run & Talk week 20-26th September

This week is Run & Talk Week when the Windmilers will be joining clubs throughout England to promote mental health through running, and encourage people to talk about issues they sometimes find difficult. Linking to World Gratitude Day on 21 September, this year’s theme is gratitude. We will be holding a Run & Talk session this Sunday 26 September at 09:30 from the Windmill. No booking is required. Report: Windmiler wins MABAC – again!

Last Sunday, Wimbledon Windmilers met up with other running clubs in the Surrey MABAC League to take part in the Lightwater Country Park event.  This is a hard and hilly course, with the long race just over 8k (5 miles), or two laps of the short course of 4k (2.5 miles). Training sessions from 20th September

Starting this week we make the transition to our autumn/winter training schedule which sees us utilising our road circuit session plans on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As previously mentioned please give serious consideration to wearing some hi-viz clothing and/or lights when attending these sessions. Surrey Road relays success

So nice to be back racing with the Ladies Team at the Road Relays (plus a good chat afterwards). Well done to our V55 “A” team of Karen Fenner, Caroline Helder and Debbie Richards who won a silver medal. Help save the Wimbledon Park track

As you may have heard, Hercules AC are petitioning the London Borough of Merton, who own the athletics track in Wimbledon Park, to formally support them in their efforts to raise money for urgent repairs to be done. They are not asking the council for any money, but the council is currently not even responding to their request. Updated club privacy statement

The club committee approved an updated club privacy statement on 24th August 2021. The statement has been re-worded in line with the current England Athletics template, thereby clarifying the legal bases under which we process different categories of member data and the reasons we process the data under each legal basis. The privacy statement now include online registration platforms such as Eventbrite in the list of third party platforms where member data is held. We Read more…
