Help save the Wimbledon Park track

As you may have heard, Hercules AC are petitioning the London Borough of Merton, who own the athletics track in Wimbledon Park, to formally support them in their efforts to raise money for urgent repairs to be done. They are not asking the council for any money, but the council is currently not even responding to their request. If the track is not relaid next year, it could lose its licence and we Windmilers will Read more…

Well done for the Windmile 2021

Well done to all our finishers and a big thanks to the helpers at last night’s 2021 Windmile on the Common. It’s good to be back staging these events again after such a long time away. Both routes were tough, having been freshened up by recent rain. 46 Windmilers ran the 5 mile course, and 7 Read more…

Finally, some good news in these uncertain times – the Windmile on the Common is back! We’re trying out a Friday evening fixture (August 20th) for the first time so as not to displace training sessions, and also make it more of a fun summer’s night out. The course is a reasonably flat point-to-point route along a track on the common over an accurately measured mile. It’s been resurfaced and much improved since the race Read more…
