Surrey Road League 2019

The Surrey Road League events are all confirmed. These are popular and well organised events which represent excellent value for money and many offer great PB potential on fast courses. A good number of Windmilers participate each year. As well as being great individual events there are team scores with the first 4 men, and the first 3 women to score for the club. There are age category prizes across the league fixtures too.

The events are as follows;

Richmond Half Marathon  Sunday 5th May   https://ranelagh-half-marathon.co.uk/

Sutton 10km  Sunday 19th May    http://www.suttonrunners.org/sutton_10km/

Dorking 10 miles  Sunday 2nd June    https://www.dorkingandmolevalleyac.org/dorkingtens

Richmond 10km Sunday 16th June    https://ranelagh-10k.co.uk/

Elmbridge 10km  Sunday 21st July    http://www.err.club/pages/2-10K.html

Wimbledon 5km  Sunday 11th August   https://www.herculeswimbledonac.org.uk/

The keen eyed amongst you will notice that the Elmore 7 does not feature this year.

I suggest entering in advance as they are popular and do sell out ahead of the day. I look forward to seeing you at some of these great races.

Mob Match with Stragglers

Stragglers have challenged us to a mob match at Wimbledon Common Park Run on 25th May. The rules are simple. There are points for each runner according to where they finish when all runners from the two clubs are ranked in finish order. The bigger the team fielded the bigger the advantage. So please get this date in your diary and have your club top ironed for the day. We’ll be in touch with more details nearer the time but it should be a fun event giving you the chance to represent your club.

England Athletics (EA) registration

If you plan to take part in any of the road league events and represent the club you do need to have EA membership. This is also needed for the Surrey Champs, and National Champs cross country races (which are great events everyone should have at least one go at!). Having EA membership also entitles you to the reduced affiliated rate for many races also. Our annual marathon places allocation is also dependent on the number of EA registered members we have in the club. You register for EA when you renew your membership, which is coming up next month. It is an additional £15.00 on top of your Windmiler membership fee. You do now need to opt in for this so please take care when renewing not to miss it if you wish to benefit from EA membership.

Two other dates for your diaries

These are two popular team events. Note the dates and we will write with details about participating nearer the time.
