Information on Membership Renewal 2018 - to come in March

Thinking about becoming a Wimbledon Windmiler? Jeff Hoadley is the Membership Secretary.

If you are completely new to running or multisport or just wondering if joining the Windmilers is right for you - then you are welcome to come along to any of our training sessions before making up your mind.

Windmilers Membership

Membership provides access to all training sessions, a quarterly edition of the Waffle (the club newsletter), reduced race entry fees (with England Athletics) plus discounts at a number of running shops. We are also a triathlon-affiliated club and membership includes all our triathlon-related activities, with the exception of Monday night swim sessions where there is a charge to cover pool hire.

If you are thinking of joining but not yet sure, come to the Sunday social run at 10am by the Windmill at Wimbledon Common. Look for a large group of people hanging around and somebody will be sure to greet you!

The annual 2017/2018 subscription rates follow. These memberships include one England Athletics Affiliation for the primary member and extra ones can be purchased at the cost of £14.00 each for every additional family member. These have been updated to reflect the increase in England Athletics membership for the 2017/2018 year to £14.

Individual £48.00 (£34.00 Windmilers, plus £14 England Athletics)
Family* £69.50 (£55.50 Windmilers, plus £14 England Athletics for the primary member)
Discounted Individual** £30.50 (£16.50 Windmilers, plus £14 England Athletics)

Please note: In accordance with the club constitution, membership is by calendar year from 1st April until March 31st and renewal is required every April, whatever time of year you initially join. New members joining after January 1st will be fully paid up members to the end of the succeeding membership year. Please let us know if you need EA membership prior to the start of their membership year on 1st April, as this will be an extra £14 (2017/2018 rates) as they do not do part years, and we will otherwise assume you need EA from 1st April onwards in your full membership year.

*Family membership includes any member’s spouse and any member’s children up to the age of 17, or those 18 or over and in full-time education. Please note children cannot run alone.

**To qualify for discounted membership, you must either be over 60, a full-time student or unemployed and/or claiming benefits. Please include a photocopy of supporting documentation.

To join, you need to complete the Windmilers Membership Application Form and send it to - and pay using the details below.

Email for details if you really need to post anything or pay by cheque, or speak to a coach/committee member who will pass things to us.

You can pay by bank transfer: Wimbledon Windmilers. Account: 71296182. Sort code: 60-60-02. Don't forget to put your name on the transfer details.

Please contact the membership secretary, ( for more info. You will generally find Jeff at training sessions on Sundays and weekday evenings.

To renew your membership, please log into the site (at the top left of the page) and you'll be taken through a simple process which integrates the membership system with the SagePay secure card processing system. It is simple and saves the membership secretary a colossal amount of work. Discounted memberships (other than over 60s) can't be renewed online as we need to see evidence of status. If you want to renew by cheque or direct payment to the account this is fine, but let us know you are doing so.

England Athletics Affiliation

The first running club you ever join is known as your "first claim club". This means you can race for the club in the disciplines for which the club is affiliated to a national body. Wimbledon Windmilers is affiliated to England Athletics for Road Running and Cross Country.
If Windmilers is your first ever running club, and you choose to pay for affiliation to England Athletics, Windmilers will be your first claim club for road running and cross country. However, if you have previously been a member of another club affiliated for road running and cross country, that club remains your first claim club, even if your membership has lapsed.

We welcome second claim members - there can be good reasons for wanting to be in more than one club. But if you want to run for us, ask the Windmilers Membership Secretary about how to transfer your first claim to Windmilers

Triathlon England Membership
The club as a whole is a member of Triathlon England, but if you wish to join as an individual then you should do that separately. Please use the "join now" link on the right hand side of the website, as the club receives a discount which we put towards your training. We would encourage all active cyclists and triathletes to join, as the membership includes important 3rd party insurance - which is particularly important for cyclists.
