MABAC Cross Country

Next race: Winterfold. Sun 7th April, 11.00.

What is MABAC?

It’s an informal league, formed in the 1970s. The name derives from "MA" (from MAGIC - Matthew Arnold Gym Instruction Class) + "BAC" (ex British Aircraft Corporation). There are currently nine member clubs. Races are held in some beautiful parts of Surrey and SW London, and often there’s a pleasant pub to head afterwards. If you’d like an alternative to the Sunday morning social, why not come along?

Each runner earns a minimum of five points per race (Windsor = eight), with the first six male runners and first three female runners for each club earning extra points, dependent on finishing position. There is a separate or short course for walkers and joggers, who cover one lap and earn two points each. So all participants score points for the club and the race is suitable for all speeds!

Races are approx 5 miles (apart from Windsor which is 8 miles) or 2.5 miles for the short course.
