Now that Covid-19 restrictions have been released by the government, from 1st August members can attend Wimbledon Windmilers Sunday social runs without registering in advance, meeting at the Windmill at 09:30. All other club sessions require advance registration until further notice. The registration links are on the club calendar.
The club wishes to recognise that the Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing and so we may return to registering for Sunday runs if needed. We recommend that members who run in their own informal groups apply the club’s updated participant session rules below. These club rules are intended to protect the safety of participants and the general public, and to preserve a positive reputation for the running community and the Wimbledon Windmilers club.
Covid-19 symptoms
Do not attend a session if, within the last 10 days, you have (1) experienced symptoms of Covid-19, (2) tested positive for Covid-19, (3) been living with someone who has recently tested positive, or (4) been required to quarantine for any other reason (early release being possible via ‘Test to Release’). If you experience symptoms or test positive for Covid-19 within 10 days of having attended a club session or event please inform our Covid-19 Coordinator, Anne Davies, at [email protected] so that members can be notified if there has been a risk of Covid-19 transmission.
Coaching ratios and group size
Although there are no longer any government restrictions on group size, the club continues to follow England Athletics guidance on coaching ratios. This means that for an actively coached club session there will be a maximum number of athletes per coach. The group size of coach-led social runs in which no active coaching guidance is provided can be decided by the coach. Member-organised informal groups are free to operate in group sizes of their choice, since they are not club sessions.
